Faith will again have a special program to provide Thanksgiving dinner to 12 families–2 in the Gary area and 10 in Waukegan. Via the Board of Elders, we are reading out to the Lutheran mission in Gary. The Outreach Committee is coordinating with Hogar de Fe to reach people in Lake County.
We plan to distribute food to local families on Saturday, November 23 at Faith. Food for Gary families will be delivered later. All food donations need to be dropped off on or before Friday, November 22. Monetary donations need to be given to the church office by Wednesday, November 20.
If you are donating dinner, please plan to provide dinner for the size of family indicated on the sign-up board at church (assume at least 2 adults). We have provided a list of suggested food to provide (non-perishable food only). We will provide Jewel gift cards for families to buy turkeys or hams. If possible, use boxes for the food or double grocery bags. Each one would be marked with the number of the family per the sign-up board. Checks should be donated separately; each should have the notation “TG Baskets.”
If you can, include a prayer for the family on a card expressing our prayer that Jesus bless their family and Thanksgiving meal.
