As the world around us continues to grow and change, we seek to apply God’s Word in relevant ways to our daily lives. The doors of Faith are open to all who seek to hear the Word of God. Come in–you are always welcome!

What We Believe
At Faith we believe, preach, and teach the Word of God. As sinners saved by the grace of God through Jesus’ death and resurrection, we seek to love others as God first loved us.
Our church joins over 6,000 other congregations as a member of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod. We affirm the teachings of Martin Luther that inspired the Reformation of the Christian Church in the 16th century. Luther, and other reformers, taught we are saved by grace alone, Scripture alone, and faith alone.
The Lord’s Supper
The Lord’s Supper is celebrated in the confession and confidence that our Lord gives us not only bread and wine, but His very body and blood to eat and to drink for the forgiveness of sins and to strengthen our union with Him and with one another. Our Lord invites to His table those who trust His words, repent of their sins, set aside any refusal to forgive and love as He forgives and loves us. Because Holy Communion is a confession of the faith, all those who share this Lutheran understanding and confession are welcome to the Lord’s Table.
Our History
Faith was formed as a mission congregation of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Highland Park, Illinois. From 1937 until 1954, the congregation worshiped in many facilities in Lake Forest, including the American Legion Hall and the Masonic Temple.
In 1956, Faith purchased 2.2 acres of land (a portion of the A. B. Dick estate) at the intersection of Deerpath Road and U.S. 41. The dedication of the initial church building took place on May 18, 1958.
The congregation officially incorporated, joined the Lutheran Church–Missouri Synod (LCMS), and called its first resident pastor, Reverend Arthur Preisinger, in 1954. Reverend Preisinger faithfully served the congregation until his death in 1964. In 1965, the parsonage was constructed.
Over the years, Faith has been compassionately served by the following ordained LCMS pastors:
1954–1964: Reverend Arthur Preisinger
1965–1972: Reverend John Nickerson
1973–1998: Reverend Richard S. Schliepsiek
1999–2005: Reverend Dr. Mark R. Schultz
2006–2015: Reverend Gerald Menk
2016–present: Reverend James D. Buckman
