After a very active time last week, this week was relaxed. But it was a “church” week, since I was at church on three occasions.
These church visits began at Faith on Sunday. I was able to visit with my friends. There was some confusion at first. I heard people saying that Pastor Buckman was here, but he didn’t look or sound like Pastor Buckman. Then someone said it was his father. That was a relief.
Of course, this was Thanksgiving week. So, I visited Faith again in the evening on Wednesday. I was able to greet my friends again. But, my nose could tell there was something different. After worship, I could see everyone eating very attractive food. But, given my discipline training, I stayed away from the serving table. Although, I did glance around for crumbs.
On Thanksgiving, I went to another church–Redeemer in Waukegan. I remember being there on several occasions before. This time, the Navy cadets were there for Thanksgiving dinner. When I walked in, a bunch of them quickly came to see and pet me. There were a lot of smiles and plenty of conversation. Many of the members of Redeemer were also very happy to see me again.
It was a happy occasion. We were blessed to support this group of young men and women before they begin their military careers in service for our country.
Be in touch. Peace!
