Every week that Pastor Jim preaches he challenges everyone to the purpose of Faith Lutheran Church and the believers in Christ–to go out, “Glorifying God by spreading the Gospel through preaching, teaching, and living our daily lives.”
How do you plan to glorify God by living your daily life in 2020?
The reason I am asking is that we are a people of planning. Over Christmas break most people start looking at 2020 plans. They begin plotting events on the calendar in pen and pencil. We’re already dreaming about spring break, and soon we finalize our plans to go! Easter plans and parties for Confirmands are being scheduled for April. Brides-to-be are laying out the details for summer wedding plans to the most intricate of details. Summer vacations are booked. High school seniors are getting excited for their new college life next fall. Adults are planning to get back to work and implement the new year’s strategy and goals for their company.
“Many are the plans in a person’s heart
but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails!” Proverbs 19:21
We should be people of planning! Planning to glorify God at work, at school, on sports fields, during family gatherings, and on vacation is our purpose as believers in Christ! So please, as you make plans for 2020, pray about how living your daily life will glorify God, and then put your plan in action and write in down in pen!
