Once again my week began at Faith on Sunday morning. I spent time with three different handlers during the morning. It’s a blessing to have so many people working with me.
On Monday, I went to Round Lake High School. The counselors and students had a special program dealing with suicide prevention. Counselors were meeting with various students to discuss this topic and the students’ awareness of this problem. Then I was called into the conversation to allow the students to pet me and enjoy my presence.
Then I made another visit to the VA hospital. I saw many more veterans than during our previous visit. We had a good time. As usual, Mickey was exceedingly happy to pet me. We told them about our party coming up at the hospital. I would be there and would look forward to visiting with them.
I then went to a senior residence at Luther Village in Arlington Heights. Three other comfort dogs were there with me. This is one of our regular monthly visits. A group of residents gather in a large living room. They are very happy to see us. Each dog has a chance to visit with each person. It’s always a pleasure to visit.
The comfort dog mission is blessed to be able to reach to people in very different situations. Us comfort dogs can engage with no strings attached.
Be in tough. Peace!
