Red Letter Challenge

The Red Letter Challenge

For as many of you as were Baptized into Christ, have put on Christ.” (Galatians 3:27)

Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

I pray you are well.

Two years ago, I heard a presentation by Pr. Zach Zehnder (LCMS) in which he talked about a sermon series he had developed that focused on the “red letters” (the words of Jesus) in the Bible to help his church members in five specific areas of their walk with Jesus:

  • Being
  • Forgiving
  • Serving
  • Giving
  • Going

The sermon series is titled the “Red Letter Challenge” (RLC).  Since then Pr. Zehnder has developed the RLC series into an intentional, seven-week process that local churches are using to:

  • Develop their small group ministry.
  • Reach out.
  • Leverage their social media platforms.

I am looking for a couple of people who are interested in serving as small group leaders for this ministry experience. The group you help to serve may or may not continue after the Red Letter Challenge, and you may or may not continue to be the leader of that group. We are intentionally going into this ministry experience with open minds and open hearts.

We will kick off this sermon series on August 23rd. It is our intention for you to be able to participate in the RLC small groups remotely, using technology. In the weeks to come, Sarah Chang, our Communications Director, will get more information to you, as well as instructions regarding how to sign up/share this sermon series and small group option with others.

If you have a minute, go to www.RedLetterChallenge.com to learn more.

V/r,

Pastor Jim
