Youth Development

My job as a youth worker is to structure risk in order to make an eternally significant difference in the lives of teens.

Risks are structured according to our potential audience and the purpose for reaching those teens. We target teens through five levels of association with our ministry and their relationship with Christ. These levels help to inform the planning and goals of our youth programs and events.

  1. A Community student is a teen that lives within a thirty minute drive of our ministry. In just the seven high schools that we currently have teens attending, that potential audience number is in excess of 12,000 teenagers. Add to that number the junior high we are now targeting and the number almost doubles.
  2. A Crowd student is a teen who comes to our campus through association with our outreach and relational events. These students make up our regular attendees and are both Christian and non-Christian.
  3. A Connected student is a teen who desires to attend ministry related activities on a regular basis. These are the Christian students who have connected with other believers.
  4. A Committed student is a teen committed to an Area Bible Study and an accountability partner. These students are very committed to their faith.
  5. A Core student is a teen committed to serving in a ministry and reaching out to a Community student.

These circles describe level of commitment and show both where youth may be and illustrate the goal of where we want youth to work towards. Every youth is different and may enter our youth in a different place. However, no matter where they enter our goal is to build up youth and further deepen their relationship with Christ.

In Christ,

Nic Cass
