MTV Christmas Tree Decorating
This year, in lieu of a gathering to decorate trees for our MTVs (members to visit), we will have the trees and decorations available in the church. Anyone who is interested in decorating a tree should contact the church office. You will be able to come to the church at a time that is convenient for you to work your magic on a tree. We would love for you to help us continue the tradition of providing these trees that provide so much joy for our members.
Thanksgiving Baskets
Faith will again have a special program to provide Thanksgiving dinner for ten families in the Waukegan area. The Outreach Committee is coordinating with the Hogar de Fe to reach out to people in Lake County. We plan to distribute food to families on Saturday morning, November 21; food for Gary families will be delivered later.
All food donations need to be dropped off by or on Friday, November 20. Money donations should be received at the church office by Monday, November 16. These donations can also be made on line via our website using the “Give” button. Donations should be planned to provide dinner for the size of family indicated (assume at least two adults). The sign- up poster provides a suggested list of the nonperishable food to provide. We will provide Jewel gift cards for families to buy turkeys or hams or other items. If possible, use boxes for the food or double grocery bags. Each one should be marked with the number of your family per the sign-up poster. Checks or online donations should be done separately; each should have a notation “TG Baskets.”
If you can, please include a prayer for the family on a card, expressing our prayer that Jesus bless their family and the Thanksgiving meal. Include this prayer in one of your boxes or bags. If you are interested in participating, please call the church office with questions or to select a family.
