Thanks to all our generous supporters, participants, and volunteers, our inaugural Faith on the Fairway charity golf outing was a huge success! We were able to raise more than $28,000 for the North Chicago Public Education Foundation. This means two additional students will receive full financial support for two years to pursue their dreams at the College of Lake County.
At the outing we were blessed to meet a few of this year’s scholarship recipients. Dayane (pictured above with Pastor Jim and Dr. John Price) shared that she and her mom did not believe post-secondary education was in her future. “I was thinking I would just go for one year, and just go part time while working full time,” Dayane noted.
But thanks to encouragement she received from her mom and her high school guidance counselor, Dayane applied for and was awarded the scholarship that changed her future. “Getting this scholarship meant I could do what I always wanted to do—go to school full time, work part time, get the degree that I always wanted, and I wouldn’t have to stress.”
After she graduates, Dayane wants to use her degree in Human Services-Children and Adolescents to give back to the community by mentoring teens who face challenging situations. Your generosity is what gives these incredible young people the resources and support they need to succeed. You truly made a difference.
