Really? 1:30 AM? Then Asher realized it was Honor Flight Day for our veteran heroes! Today was a first ever—94 veterans of World War II, Korea, and Vietnam were going to Washington, DC for the day to see the monuments and memorials, and they are all FEMALES! We got ready, got in the car (5 of us), and rushed to the airport.
The veterans (think heroes) were in various lines for tickets, boarding passes, pictures, etc. We got to visit briefly with each one. We gave out my business card and wished them all God’s blessings. We met one lady, Mary, who was going to turn 100 years old in three days (see her photo below). She joined the Army in 1948. One veteran was 105! They loved seeing us, and it was a great opportunity to say thanks to a whole planeload of very special women—heroes all!
