Community Easter Egg Hunt
On April 9, with the help of our youth, we hid 900 eggs throughout the church. Over 30 kids had a blast finding eggs and discovering the prizes inside. We had a wonderful turnout from our church members but also great participation from our community, with over half of the families who came having no prior connection to our church. We finished our egg hunt with a craft of an Easter card that kids were able to send to friends or family members. Overall, it was a wonderful event and an awesome way celebrate Easter.
Youth Scavenger Hunt
This past month the youth headed to Hawthorn Mall in Vernon Hills for a scavenger hunt. Equipped with a camera and list of things to find, three teams set out to see who could return with the most complete collection of photos. Afterwards, we gathered at the church to review photos and declare a winner. Our winning team was not so creatively titled “The Team.”
Easter Brunch
It was a joy Easter morning to have our youth help in serving up a brunch for the people of Faith. Egg bakes, fruit, and a great variety of pastries greeted everyone between our services that morning. A free-will offering was collected to support our youth who will be attending the LCMS Youth Gathering in Houston, Texas, this summer. Thank you to all who joined us for breakfast in support of our youth!
