I recently traveled to Acuña, Mexico, to serve once again with Casas por Cristo. We built a new home for Juana Alvarado Perales. Please keep Juana and her eight children, most of whom are not yet believers, in your prayers. The before and after pictures show a tremendous upgrade in her living situation. Our team of 18 missionaries (ages 10 to 60+) got to utilize our hearts for service through our different tools, gifts, and strengths. As one of the taglines of Casas por Cristo goes, “We all have something to give.”
My favorite memory was the conversation I had with Juana and the sponsoring Mexican pastor on the morning of the dedication. The love of Christ and the importance of choosing to follow Him was the focus of our discussion. “The time is now!” was what we tried to impart. Please pray that the Holy Spirit breaks through to Juana and her entire family.
