ASHER’S ACTIONS

Asher’s Actions…Continuing on with the significant activities I have done in recent months, April continued to be a more active month. Relative to the 20 weekdays in the month, I had 12 days with an activity. I continued my community presence now at eight locations. Then, I participated in two Easter celebrations including an Egg Hunt.

For the community, I continue to visit the senior residential facility called Radford Green, and I revisited another residential location at Gurnee Meadows. In all of these locations, people are always so happy to see and pet me. We’ll continue to go back to these places in the coming months.

Then, I also revisited the Warren Barr facility in Highland Park. I again met with 25 residents in a large dining room. Everyone petted me and were very happy about this visit. Staff were excited about the reaction; and look forward to more visits. Then I returned to the very special place; the Reach Center for helping adults with severe disabilities. I
usually meet with a small group, about 10 adults. While I lie on the floor, they lie down next to me, except ones in wheelchairs. The people in wheelchairs pet me when I sit tall next to them; then they get a big thrill from touching my head and ears.

One more continuing request, I need volunteers who could join my handlers as a “Mission Partner.” You would have a chance to help by talking to people and kids on my visits. Let my Top Dog, Dick Hocking (https://faithlakeforest.org/contact/contact-dick-hocking/), know if you can help.

Praise the Lord for all of these opportunities to serve people in His Name.
