Holy Week Worship

HOLY WEEK WORSHIP by Pastor Jim

Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

I pray you and yours are well.

Have you ever been excluded? Not invited? Told to leave?

God has.

God blessed Israel with three houses of worship – the Tent of Meeting which was used for 369 years in Shiloh; then the first temple (aka Solomon’s Temple) which was used for 409 years in Jerusalem and then the second temple (aka Herod’s Temple) which was begun 70 years after the previous temple had been torn down and it was used for over 500 years.

Why three houses of worship? Because in each case the Israelites by and large had abandoned worshipping the one true God in favor of local false gods. And even though
God sent faithful prophets to warn Israel, it was to no avail. Ezekiel records the Glory of God leaving the temple (Ezekiel 10:18-19).

Holy Week is the week leading up to the crucifixion of Christ – who is God come in human form. And this week, the religious leaders are going to make it crystal clear they don’t want any part of this.

Holy Week takes up about 1/3 of the four Gospels. It is that important.

God loves those who hate Him; Jesus dies to pay for everyone’s sins. He tells His Father, “Forgive them, they know not what they do”.

We will have worship services every day during Holy Week and we will look at God’s Word regarding what happened on that day. Join us, 3/24-29 at 10am and 6:30pm and Saturday 3/30 at 5pm.

Nothing could make God happier than for a friend to receive the eternal life Jesus makes possible; pray about who you can invite to our Holy Week and Easter Sunday
services, this year.

Your friend in Christ,
Pastor Jim
