North Chicago Outreach Update

NORTH CHICAGO OUTREACH UPDATE by Gerardo & Delin Hernandez

Hispanic Women’s Ministry

In February, on the day of love and friendship, our Hispanic community celebrated friendship. Like every year, the women’s ministry shared the word of God – John 15:13, “Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.” As we remember the love of God towards humanity, we, as believers, are reminded to strive to love each other. Thoughtful Valentine’s Day gifts of cards and decorated cups were given to each of the women at the meeting. During the evening, we also had a time of sharing food and the word of God.

Home Bible Study

On Fridays at 7:00pm, we have Bible Study in North Chicago at the house of Irwin and his wife, Jhoryelis. This couple is grateful to God and has decided to open their home, inviting other families from their neighborhood to the study. We meet to share the love of God through the Gospel. In the same community group, we offer theology studies for men who are interested. This study time consists of equipping people to serve. We are preparing others who desire to study the bible and reach out to more disciples to expand the kingdom of God.

Saturday at 7:00PM in North Chicago, we meet at Josefina’s home for Bible Study with her son Luis, who lives in Guerrero, Mexico. We are ministering to his family by phone and praying for their needs. God is opening doors to other places and is expanding the Gospel. We continue to pray to God to open more doors for other families who live around Josefina’s house to come to Bible Study.

Sharing the Gospel with Music

Salomon is a friend we have known for approximately two months. He is from Mexico and now lives in Mundelein. He wants to learn to play guitar and serve God with his talent. He is motivated to continue practicing. Every week, we get together at church for more lessons. Thank God for Salomon’s life.

Please pray for our Hispanic ministry. God continues working His vineyard. God bless you all.
