JESUS SHARES THE PARABLE OF THE TWO SONS WITH CHIEF PRIEST AND ELDERS by Donnie Stubblefield
Matthew 21: 28-32 – 28 “What do you think? There was a man who had two sons. He went to the first and said, ‘Son, go and work today in the vineyard.’ 29 “‘I will not,’ he answered, but later he changed his mind and went. 30 “Then the father went to the other son and said the same thing. He answered, ‘I will, sir,’ but he did not go. 31 “Which of the two did what his father wanted?” “The first,” they answered. Jesus said to them, “Truly I tell you, the tax collectors and the prostitutes are entering the kingdom of God ahead of you. 32 For John came to you to show you the way of righteousness, and you did not believe him, but the tax collectors and the prostitutes did. And even after you saw this, you did not repent and believe him.”
Jesus is talking about how a changed heart creates a changed life of eternity. The religious rulers seemed to talk the talk but not walk the walk. Jesus challenged them to repent and believe but this change seemed to only go to their heads and not to their hearts.
I am from Missouri, the “Show-me” state. A lot of people are in the same mind frame of understanding, show me with your actions not just your words. This is the beautiful outcome we will see this June 10-14 as we build a home for Rafae and Itzel and their three children, Ruth, Ana and Victoriano in Acuna, Mexico. We will proclaim the Good News of Jesus’ Love with words but our actions will show His Love through our good works which He prepared in advance.
It’s not too late for you to have a change of heart and decide to join us! Please pray about how God desires to use you to help change lives in June and then talk to Pastor Jim.
We all have something to give in Kingdom building with Jesus!
If you have questions about how you can help, please email donnie@casasporcristo.org or call 630-388-8628.
I hope to see you in Acuna!
