ALL CAMPUS CELEBRATION by Pastor Jim Buckman

Sunday, November 16th we will have our Annual All Campus Celebration. This will be 10am in Lake Forest. This will be our only service of the weekend. We will have a fellowship time after the service and all are invited to attend.
God has blessed us as one church, with two campuses in so many ways this past year. Our worship attendance has grown at both locations; with a dramatic increase in the number of worship servants helping out in our services. Our Hispanic home Bible study groups continue to grow both in number of locations and participants. We have seen great participation in our Senior’s ministry and the beginning of our Singles ministry as well. Faith on the Fairway took in over $67,000 in our fifth annual golf outing which supports 57 students from North Chicago public schools attending the College of Lake County on full scholarship.
This will also mark a historic first for the ministry of Faith Lutheran Church, we will be installing the Rev. John Shumate as Pastoral Assistant; which will be the first time in our history that we have had two called Pastors. Pastor Shumate has been ordained for 49 years, which means next year we will be celebrating his 50th year of public ministry. We praise God from Whom all blessings flow.
We are blessed to begin using the $37,000 grant from the Northern Illinois District, which I wrote for us to help with facility improvements at our Waukegan campus and we have a completely new parking lot at our Lake Forest campus- thank you North Shore Lutheran Ministry!
Church council has approved a job description for our Director of Family and Youth ministry and our lawyers have reviewed the contract we will be offering to our candidate, whom we hope to have in place very soon. We have much to celebrate indeed!
