OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD
The Children’s Ministry of Faith Lutheran successfully mailed 25-30 Shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child. Thanks to generous gifts from parishioners, each Faith child was able to stuff 2 boxes to send overseas to children in underdeveloped third world countries.
Each box was packed with special goodies – a soccer ball, backpack, brush, comb, pen/pencil, notebook, and a plush teddy bear or animal. Personal hygiene articles and everyday use articles were included to round out each shoebox. A mixture of fun, play, and daily objects were lovingly packed. While packing the boxes Faith’s children were filled with such excitement, mirroring the same excitement that the children receiving these boxes will have.
Each box was labeled with a barcode that is directly assigned to each child. At the drop-off destination the box is scanned and will be tracked through the duration of the shipping process. The information will be sent to us with the name and country of each box that our children packed. We will be able to communicate with each child recipient of our boxes after the New Year. We are excited!
It was an enjoyable and happy event for an activity for the children of Faith to give time and toys for boys and girls who are in underprivileged.
