The week began at Faith for Sunday worship. It is always a treat to see and be pet by all my friends at church. The kids get a big kick out of hugging me.
I didn’t have any regular visits this week but had two very special activities. First, it was time to visit my groomer, Veronica. She has a wonderful skill to get me feeling so good. It’s like going to a dog spa.
Then we attended a regional meeting for many comfort dog teams in the Chicago region. We met at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Arlington Heights. There were about 20 comfort dogs and teams. A significant amount of time was spent doing training exercises. These were done under the supervision of LCC trainers. Dogs and handlers did a lot of practicing, so we can be at our best when visiting people. The mission has a high standard of behavior and function.
There were also meetings to share information about the mission. This time there was a representative from the K9 Police Ministry describing his activities. Tog dogs also met to share information about management topics. It’s a very good objective to meet with other teams regularly. It provides a way to develop unity for this mission.
Be in touch. Peace!
