Asher’s Actions

This was another week with veteran-related events that I attended. First, we were with the Faith congregation for Sunday worship.

The first veterans event was at an elementary school in South Barrington. They had a student assembly during which Veterans Day was remembered. Several comfort dogs were in attendance. The kids enjoyed our presence.

Later in the week, there was another veterans appreciation event. This was a supper at one of the Lutheran churches in Barrington. I’ve been to this church before; they were happy to see me.

The week ended with a very important visit to an International Care Center in Chicago. This was the second time that I was with the kids at this facility. This time, the kids were more confident and less scared to see me. Many of them hugged and petted me. Another comfort dog was also there to be with the kids. It’s beginning to feel like the kids are benefiting from our visits. This was the hope that we all had. Praise the Lord.

Be in touch. Peace!
