Did you know that Faith has a contingent of lay caregivers trained to walk alongside those who are experiencing life difficulties? These servants are Faith’s Stephen Ministers. Each of these dedicated, caring individuals been trained in the same Stephen Ministries R precepts that are used in over 12,000 congregations around the world. Following successful completion of their training, each caregiver has been equipped and commissioned by Faith to provide one-to-one, Christ-centered care to those in need.
Grief, illness, family life and work transitions, and victimization are just a few of the kinds of life experiences that may cause a person to seek the support of a Stephen Minister. During the relationship with their assigned minister, individuals encounter the care of a Christian who prays, listens, encourages, and addresses their emotional and spiritual support needs, until they are ready to comfortably and confidently cope with life’s changes. To learn more about how Stephen Ministers are making a difference in people’s lives, visit the Stephen Ministries website.
In addition to these typical one-to-one assignments, Faith’s Stephen Ministers also carry out a grief ministry, checking on and distributing ministry resources to those who have experienced the death of a loved one. They also serve as prayer partners in Faith’s prayer ministry. All of these confidential, free services are available to members and non-members alike. If you believe you or someone you know may benefit from working with one of Faith’s Stephen Ministers, please contact Pastor Jim.
