As we look toward the future, we want to have a vision for our youth ministry that flows from our church mission statement: “Glorifying God by spreading the Gospel through preaching, teaching, and living our daily lives.” The focus of our youth ministry is to build up youth to live out this mission statement. As a church, we are likely to meet youth who are at a great variety of points in their lives, and we want our vision and values to reflect this. With all this in mind, I present you with our youth vision statement and core values.
Youth Ministry Vision Statement
Equipping youth for life through the CROSS
Core Values
Christ-centered
We believe how we live our lives must point to Jesus, and through prayer we diligently seek His will.
Relevant
We believe our task is to present the Gospel in a way that is relevant and meaningful to people’s lives today without compromising Biblical truth.
Outreach-minded
We believe lost people matter to God, and therefore, matter to the church. Our primary method of expanding the Kingdom is through duplicating ourselves through planting churches and campuses.
Scripture-based
We believe the inerrant word of God is the only standard of truth and instruction, and it should be boldly proclaimed without compromise.
Servant-focused
We believe all Christ-followers should strive for continued growth through connection to one another in community and stewardship of our spiritual gifts, and that it will manifest itself in service.
These two pieces together—our ministry vision statement and core values–will work to shape all our youth Bible studies, events, retreats, and service projects. Through this we seek to build up youth so they can fully take on the mission of our church and “glorify God by spreading the Gospel.”
