The congregation’s support of eleven families for Thanksgiving was very successful. With the help of Ada and Fred Brey, all the food and Jewel gift cards were delivered by Thanksgiving. The Outreach Committee expresses its thanks and appreciation to all the church families who supported this activity, especially Ada and Fred.
We thank the congregation and friends for the substantial donation of funds. We were able to give each family at least $100 in gift cards.
As the food was distributed to the families, a copy of the Portals of Prayer, which is published in Spanish, was also distributed. For those of us who were together with these families, it’s hard not to weep tears of joy. We are continually reminded of what Jesus said in Matthew 25:37-40: “‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink? And when did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you? And when did we see you sick or in prison and visit you?’ And the King will answer them, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.'” We do this because of our love for Jesus. What a blessing for the Faith congregation.
