Asher’s Actions – June

Thanks to Faith’s continuing connection to the Nation Guard via Pastor/Chaplain Buckman, my team and I continue to visit a number of vaccination sites. These include Forest Park (a former department store) and the Lake County Convention Center.

At these locations, my handlers and I visit with two groups: National Guard personnel and people getting vaccinations. For the military, I would meet them in their break room during lunch hour.

After meeting the military, I would then go to the area where people were resting after getting their vaccination. My handlers and I would walk around to say hello to everyone and asked if they wanted to pet me. Many people would say “thank you” to us for visiting them. During these times, I have probably visited with at least 400 people.

I continue to visit a senior couple in Libertyville. Over the last six months, we have visited with these folks regularly. Unfortunately the husband has now been moved to a hospice center, but we have continued to visit with his wife as the opportunity arises..

This month I made my second visit to the Radford Green senior center at Sedgebrook. These visits had previously been done by comfort dog JoJo and his team.

On this visit I had the opportunity to visit with a number of people, all of whom were very happy to see me and pet me.

We thank the Lord for providing all these continuing opportunities to reach out to people with the Good News about Jesus.

Be in touch. Peace!
