Join us for weekend worship with special guest speakers Gary and Sue Kessler, who are missionaries in Belize.
Meet the Kesslers
Gary and Sue Kessler serve the Lord through The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS) in Belize. In this role, Gary manages the LCMS’ construction projects in the country and coordinates the short-term teams that come to serve there. Meanwhile, Sue oversees religious education at Little Lambs Preschool in the Valley of Peace community and teaches English classes.
Gary is originally from Hinsdale, IL. He attended Elgin Community College in Elgin and Midwest Truck Driving School in Yorkville and is now retired after a career in the U.S. Army and later as a semi-truck driver. Since 2000, he has served on mission trips to Uganda, Sudan, Kenya, Ghana, Haiti, and Belize. He also is a Lutheran Early Response Team (LERT) volunteer and has assisted with disaster-recovery efforts in Louisiana, Illinois, Arkansas, and Alabama. In his free time, Gary enjoys fishing, hiking and camping.
Sue was born in Lockport, IL, and has an early childhood education degree from Waubonsee Community College in northern Illinois. Among other jobs, she has worked as a teacher at the preschool of Lord of Life Lutheran Church, Elburn, IL, where she and Gary are members. At Lord of Life, she oversaw the Comfort Dog ministry and served on the church’s mission board. She also is a LERT volunteer and has responded to disasters in Illinois and Louisiana. In her free time, she enjoys fishing and sewing.
Prayers
Pray for Gary and Sue as they serve in Belize. Ask God to watch over them and help them to build good relationships with the people they meet. Pray that God would use them to help build up His church in Belize, all to His glory. Let us give thanks that the Kesslers are serving God’s children in this part of the world.
