Faith Receives Grant from LCMS Life Match Program

FAITH RECEIVES GRANT FROM LCMS LIFE MATCH PROGRAM by Jan Bersano

Faith has been named as the recipient of a $4,000 grant from the LCMS Million Dollar Life Match program.

The initiative, which will offer a total of $1 million in matching grants, was developed to support LCMS congregations involved in providing beginning-of-life care in their local communities. “It is exciting to learn about the variety of mercy work being done by LCMS congregations across the country and to partner with them to expand their capacity,” commented Deaconess Dr. Tiffany Manor, Director of LCMS Life Ministry—grant program administrator. Indeed, Faith finds itself in good company.

The monies for which Faith applied were requested as a match for the first $4,000 ($2,000 from members, matched by $2,000 from Faith’s Outreach fund) that were collected as part of Faith’s Life Sunday Matching Fund Campaign. The month-long drive, which kicked off on Life Sunday, January 22, was conducted in support of the new Redeeming Life Outreach Ministry (RLOM) maternity home that is being established in East Dundee. That first-of-its-kind RLOM home in Illinois will provide safe, stable housing as well as emotional, spiritual and educational support to the mothers, mothers-to-be, and children with whom the Gospel of Christ will be shared.

Upon receipt of grant funds, Faith will issue a check to RLOM in memory of long-time member Carol Marwede in the amount of $9,257.81.

What a blessing to be able to provide support to a cause that was near and dear to Carol!

GOD IS GOOD!
