CHRISTIANITY IS NOT DYING; NOMINAL CHRISTIANITY IS by Pastor Jim Buckman

Brothers and Sisters in Christ, Ed Stetzer is the real deal; I have heard him in person & I have read his material. Ed holds the Billy Graham Chair of Church, Mission, and Evangelism at Wheaton College and serves as Executive Director of the Billy Graham Center for Evangelism. He has planted, revitalized, and pastored churches, trained pastors and church planters on six continents, holds two masters degrees and two doctorates, and written dozens of books.

He has written a great article, from which I am going to highlight some points which you can read his article in its entirety (https://bit.ly/EdStetzerArticle).

Ed’s article is from 2015, and in it he predicts that certain demographic changes will happen – and they do. I remember the first time I read his article; it was such a breath of fresh air and offered some hope as we continue to bring the Gospel to those around us.

Unfortunately, there are many false shepherds in Christianity and perhaps the worst are those who rob believers of any hope or passion about sharing the Gospel. These burnt-out wicks offer no light and point to the darkness as “proof” that The Light has next to no future in America.

I have sat through more than one presentation where the Chicken Little church “expert” clucks endlessly about how Christianity (in their opinion) is dying in America and then…wait for it…they say there is no answer/solution.

This is horrible. It is also not true. Here is what is true – God’s word does not return to Him void; it does accomplish the purpose for which it was sent out (Isaiah 55:11). That is the truth!

We are not anywhere near done; we aren’t going to roll over and play dead. We are going to share Jesus!

Your friend in Christ,
Pastor Jim
